ABOUT ME
I am currently studying an MSc in International Development and Management in the prestigious LUMID program at Lund University. My passion is working in collaboration with people from around the world to solve global issues, taking into account positionality and ensuring work is done with consent and in collaboration with communities.
During the writing of my BSc thesis, I founded Frontline Street Art (FLSA), a platform to explore how art in open spaces is used in protest and its wider influence on society. A couple of years on, I am combining my journalism experience and interests to create a podcast under the FLSA umbrella. I wish to engage with artists, academics and fellow art enthusiasts to engage in meaningful discussions and share these interactions with others.
I am looking for work experience in journalism (both written, photographic and video format) and development in urban spaces. I am particularly interested in South America, having spent time there during my BSc and continuing to focus my research in this region.
Previous Work Experience
Throughout my BSc, I was very active in different capacities. From public speaking and hosting discussion events to working as a writer and editor, I developed my interpersonal and technical skills.
During my thesis research, I built a website and social media platform using my developing skills to assist in finding interviewees. All these experiences prepared me for my internship with WWF in Colombia in early 2023 and for my MSc which I began in International Development and Management in September 2023.
In my current MSc, the extracurricular activities I am engaged in have allowed me to develop skills in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Lightroom as head of design at The Perspective Magazine. Additionally, I have also developed my managerial skills as Co-Head of the Magazine at UPF and explored different writing styles as a columnist at Lundagård Newspaper. My current focus is on building my platform, Frontline Street Art.
Sharing on Social Media
I am currently stepping out of my comfort zone and learning how to share more of myself online. Having grown up in the age of YouTubers and Instagrammers, I have had a love-hate relationship with how people present themselves on the internet as to me it has often come across as inauthentic and unattainable.
However, after years of witnessing social media being used as a journalistic tool and using Instagram as a means of research during the writing of my BSc thesis, I am finally taking the plunge. Over the coming months I will be navigating the world of short video content creation, sharing images more regularly and learning how to 'brand' myself while staying authentic. This is with the intention of learning essential marketing skills, building confidence speaking both on and off camera and learning how to generate content quickly to a high standard.
